An extremely new entrant in the film, drama and music segment of the industry, Pixel Films created history with its first attempt by producing a drama show named ‘Kansa’ which was staged in Sant Gagde Maharaj Auditorium, Sangeet Natak Academy, Gomtinagar, Lucknow on Thursday, 16th August, 2018.
It was a sad day for the nation as our Ex Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee rode to heavenly abode just 2 hours before the play was supposed to start. As they say that the “Show must go on”, so pixel also decided to continue the show with a heavy heart and show started with a 2 minute silence in memory of the departed soul.
A crowd of about 250 people could be seen with self effused clapping on many dialogues and artist emotions. Scenes after scene magic continued to happen. Scenes like “Teenage kansa refusing to kill a goat in front of his father Ugrasen, kansa getting left alone in the dangerous jungle, Kansa taking over throne of his father, Kansa in love with his beloved girlfriend swati, Kansa in talk with his sister devaki, Kansa watching the Bhakt Prahlad show, Kansa declaring himself as GOD, Kansa in romance with swati, Kansa sending his beloved swati as ‘Pootna’ to kill Krishna, Kansa getting irritated with his wife Asti and then killing her and finally all his main support persons, Pralamb the wazir and Pradyot the senapati also getting killed while opposing the cruelty and confusion of their king.
Overall the play clearly established the fact how a soft heart person can be transformed to a cruel and confused ruler by injecting the feeling of revenge. After the transformation ‘Kansa’ could be seen to act like irritated and psychic personality which are quite often the prime attributes of Dictators. All dictators finally loose their nears and dear ones as they do not trust anyone.
All the scenes were nicely crafted and made further impressive with the aptly placed background music and light effects. It was quite interesting to see how public flocked to the stage after the play was over and the Director and main Actor C.B. Singh wanted to take some feedback from the audience. Everybody said that it was a play of far superior standard that they have seen in metro cities.
